Junior Growers Academy is a children's plant science enrichment program from The Boys Tree Farm LLC in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Junior Growers Academy was founded by Jenna Petrykowski. The program grew out of her years spent caring for plants every day. Instead of learning about plants only from a book, kids see real examples from our own garden and nursery, like basil, tomatoes, marigolds, dill, and eggplant, and then try hands-on projects at home.
Why I started Junior Growers
Plants have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family has worked in the farming and nursery industry since I was a young girl, and I grew up surrounded by growing things, learning firsthand how much care, patience, and attention it takes to help something thrive.
Today, some of my favorite moments are spent teaching my own children about plants. My hope is that they will carry everything I have taught them and one day pass it on to their own kids.
That love of passing knowledge from one generation to the next is the reason I created Junior Growers Academy. I wanted to give children the same hands-on connection to nature that I had growing up, and to show them that plant science is something they can explore, observe, and grow right at home. Whether your family is new to gardening or already has a green thumb, I'm glad you're here, and I look forward to growing alongside your young learners.
